mvision’s dedicated video network brings a cost effective alternative to traditional video conferencing held over ISDN (telephone lines), and is superior quality and much more reliable than the public internet.

Traditional IP (i.e. the public Internet) backbones were not designed to handle the demanding performance requirements of business class video conferencing. Packet loss, jitter, and out-of-order packet delivery often result in degraded video and audio quality. Historically, this lack of predictable performance has limited the viability of IP transport over the Internet for real-time video conferencing. In contrast, the mvision network ensures that video information packets travel in-sequence and at the highest priority, end-to-end, thereby delivering video-over-IP with guaranteed quality of service (QoS).

Unlike other network providers that string together a number of different networks that they sublease, the mvision video network is an MPLS/IP based internal private network, allowing QoS to be provisioned. The benefit of providing a full (completely secure) private network ensures that only our customers’ video traffic goes over our network. VPN steering and policing are done within the network thus delivering the best security whilst eliminating the need to place expensive network equipment at the client’s premises. Our fully redundant global network delivers 99.995% reliability.

From our Video Network Operation Centre (VNOC) we monitor all network connections, endpoints and services, and assess issues that may affect the performance.
